Letterbox Love #4

Welcome to Letterbox Love, this is a UK meme, hosted by the lovely Lynsey at Narratively Speaking and inspired by The Story Siren's In My Mailbox. This post is a means by which to highlight the books we get in the post and beyond, and especially to bring attention to those books which may be sat on our shelves for a little while yet that we love all the same.

I've been very lucky book-wise this week, I've received lots of boos for review. I attended a lovely blogger event hosted by Atlantic and Corvus and got lots of books from them. I bought a couple of things this week but was fairly restrained and these were bought as I was passing through a station as I've been working far too much to be in any actual Bookshops this week!

The first thing that was was sent to me was this gorgeous hardback copy of Creature Comforts by Trisha Ashley. This came out just last week and just look at those lush end papers.....

Now to the books I got from the Atlantic/Corvus event. I'm going to do a whole write up on this event so if you want to know more about the authors, keep your eyes peeled for that one!

Post Mortem by Kate London. This book is part crime, part mystery, part psychological thriller.

The Lives of Women by Christine Dwyer Hickey. This sounds really intriguing as it does really seem to be about what it has been and like to be a woman in certain societies...

Rembrants Mirror by Kim Devereux. About the man himself!

The Looking Glass House by Vanessa Tait. A new twist on the Alice story, told by one of the original authors relatives-should be really interesting historical fiction...

A Want of Kindness by Joanne Limburg. This is the story of Queen Anne and sounds like it is told from a fairly witty point of view containing some of her original letters!

A Better Man by Leah Mclaren. This book sounds like a lot of fun about a man posing as the perfect husband so his wife won't suspect him of divorce and what havoc that actually causes...

I'm very excited to have a copy of this next one...The Silent Hours by Cesca Major. Historical fiction debut by this fabulous author set during the First World War.

Now to the books I bought this week. I decided to pick up some of the 80p penguin 80th anniversary editions. I won't tell you which as you can clearly see from the pictures...

I also picked up this George Orwell essay at the till as well, it's something that I did at uni so I'm intrigued to read this!

And that's it, another massive book haul, if I carry on at this rate, I won't be able to move for books in the house-here's hoping!

Hope you've had a great reading week!
