Contemporary-a-thon Round 6 TBR

This week sees the start of another round of the Conteporary-a-thon. I've done this readathon once before and since I read so many conteporary reads anyway this is just a great way to give my reading a little direction.

You can watch this announcement video for more information...

MOST of these books will be taken from my February TBR with a couple that may have come off my hold list at the library...

These are the challenges:

1. read a contemporary book with green on the cover
2. read a contemporary from a new to you author
3. read a diverse contemporary (keeping in mind that it is Black History Month!)
4. read a backlist contemporary (something that has been on your TBR for over a year)
5. read a dark/hard hitting contemporary
6. read a contemporary with an illustrated cover
7. read a contemporary that is beloved by a member of the book community (and shout out the creator!)

And here are the books I want to read...

This meets challenges 1, 3 and 6

This meets challenges 1, 2, 3 and 6

This meets challenges 4, 6, and 7. Victoria from https://victorialovesbooks.wordpress.com/  first recommended Paige Toon to me on New Years Eve 2012-2013 and it has taken me this long to read this one as part of my Paige Toon Readalong! Johnny's Girl is the novella that goes with Johnny Be Good.

This meets challenge 3.

This meets challenges 2, 3 and 6.

This meets challenge 6 and if you read the synopsis it also meets challenge 5. Also this author has just received a major lifetime award from the Romantic Novelists Association and so is definitely beloved by the book community, challenge 7.

Laurie and Pete should never have met.
But fate has pushed them together for a reason.
Six months ago, on the same night, Laurie and Pete both lost their partners.
Struggling to manage the grief, they join the same counselling group – and meet each other.
From their sadness, Pete and Laurie find happiness growing and they sense a fresh new beginning.
Except, the more they talk, the more they begin to spot the strange parallels in their stories.
Then Pete discovers a truth that changes everything.
But, as surely as a compass points north, some people cannot be kept apart.
My One True North is a story of friendship and what love means, of secrets uncovered, teashops on corners and the northern lights.

This meets challenges 1, 2, 6 and 7. Instagram made me do it!

I'm halfway through this one so this will be the first book I finish before jumping into any others this week. This book is set in my neck of the woods and whilst is isn't contemporary romance, more literary fiction, its has an illustrated cover and has green on it so I thought I would include it in the list.
