Cover Reveal: Morgan Le Fay: Giants in the Earth (Fata Morgana Book III) by Jo-Anne Blanco @lovebooksgroup #lovebookstours

I am excited to have another cover reveal on the blog for you today.Today I have the cover reveal for Morgan Le Fay: Giants in the Earth (Fata Morgana Book III) by Jo-Anne Blanco. The series is for readers of all ages (as Rosemary Sutcliff once said of her own work, “for readers aged nine to ninety.”) The books follow Morgan from her early childhood in post-Roman Dark Ages Britain and through her teenage years to adulthood. Elements of Celtic folklore, fairy tales, and mythologies of diverse cultures are woven throughout the books, but each novel is an original adventure story that can be read either as a standalone or as part of the ongoing series.

Here's the blurb for you...

WHEN MONSTERS COME TO LIFE...

In the aftermath of Ambrosius' attack on Tintagel Castle, young Morgan is sent away to the fortress of Dimilioc with her family, friends and tutor. But when bandits ambush their party, Morgan gets lost in the forest with nothing but her wits and her magic powers to rely on.

In her battle for survival, Morgan faces a cruel, hostile world that is suspicious, afraid and jealous of her magic. Silver-tongued faeries who are not what they seem. Vengeful Piskies and Muryans holding her friend Ganieda captive. Angry Giants and Spriggans who have awakened in the earth. And the ever-present threat of Ambrosius and his army, waiting to strike again...

To rescue her friends and outwit her enemies, Morgan must draw upon all her gifts, magic and mortal, in a perilous journey that will test her strength, faith and loyalty to the utmost...

Are you ready for the cover?

So what do you think? Stunning right?

Author Bio

Jo-Anne Blanco was born in Brazil to an English mother and Spanish father. She has spent much of her life travelling around the world as a teacher. Her travels, together with her lifelong passion for reading, writing and storytelling, inspired her to embark upon her Fata Morgana epic fantasy series, about the life and adventures of Morgan le Fay. Mythology, fairy tales and Arthurian legend are all major influences on her work, and her ongoing journeys to countries of great landscapes and folklore are never-ending sources of inspiration.

She is the author of Morgan Le Fay: Small Things and Great and Morgan Le Fay: Children of This World. These novels are the first two books in the Fata Morgana series.

Guest Review: Bedlam by LJ Ross

In a world gone mad, who can you trust?
Fresh from a high-profile case in the Paris fashion world, elite forensic psychologist and criminal profiler Dr Alexander Gregory receives a call from the FBI. The wife of a notorious criminal has been admitted to a private psychiatric hospital and can no longer testify in his upcoming trial. Without her, their case will collapse but, amidst reports that the staff are as unpredictable as their patients, who can the police trust?
In desperation, they turn to an outsider and now Gregory must find the courage to step inside the fortified walls of Buchanan Hospital to uncover the truth. The question is, will he ever be the same again?
Murder and mystery are peppered with dark humour in this fast-paced thriller set amidst the spectacular Catskill Forest.

Review: This is the third novel from LJ Ross featuring the forensic psychologist Dr Alexander Gregory. I have recently read all three of the books in this series of thrillers and have been enjoying getting to know this character, his history and motivation for following this career. In common with the other two books, this one can be read as a standalone.

This story finds Alex and his good friend and mentor Professor Bill Douglas in the USA, initially attending a criminal profiling conference at the FBI training base in Virginia. At the request of the FBI, they soon become involved in a case relating to a local mafia family. A member of the family due to testify against them has disappeared, seemingly into a private psychiatric hospital. Against his better judgment, Alex agrees to a plan involving his going undercover and being admitted to the highly fortified and remote hospital to establish the whereabouts and state of mind of the witness. The problem is, once in can he get out again?

I have enjoyed this fast paced thriller more than the previous two books in the series; it certainly had me on the edge of my seat wondering about the outcome and the fate of the two central characters. The tension had me finishing the book in quick time. There is a little light relief in the shape of remarks from some of the fellow patients in the hospital. As I said at the start, these books can be read as standalones, but I would recommend reading them in order to fully understand what is going on in Alex Gregory’s mind. The book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, where we are left to wonder what will happen in his career. I shall be looking out for the next book in the series to find out.

Top Ten Tuesday: Non-Bookish Hobbies 3/11/20

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This is such an interesting topic. I think if you follow me on social media then you will probably know about a lot of these hobbies but I am sure a few will at least be interesting to you...

1. Travel. I have a travel insta and I love the fact that we have been able to see almost all of the states since we moved here 4 years ago. Here's to seeing the final 5 when we are able to travel again!

2. Collecting Starbucks. A friend of mine asked me how many Starbucks I thought I'd been to a few years ago and so I counted (I was still able to) and since then I have tried to take in new Starbucks when we visit somewhere and keep track of them using the Swarm app.

3. Shopping, there's a reason I was gifted the shopaholic novel when it first came out, I love shopping and have visited both of the biggest shopping malls in America (in terms of square footage and in terms of retail space) and I love getting a bargain whether that's in store or online.

4. Movies. You should also know this from the fact that I also review movies on my BookTube channel and love making book vs movie videos!

5. Musical theatre, and I love when they would show musicals in the movies theatre. Seeing shows in this country is so much more expensive than seeing them back home so I haven't been able to keep this up as much since living in the states...

6. Whisky. I have based holidays around visiting distilleries too, I like a single malt and I love finding out about different processes of distilling and different finishes. We have quite a whisky collection both sides of the Atlantic.

7. YouTube. I love making videos, finding out about the process behind them and the rationale for the platform and I love watching YouTube as well, there is just every kind of video you can think of out there.

8. Disney. I used to be so into Disney and then I got engaged there and that didn't work out so I kind of fell out of love with it. I have recently rediscovered my love of being in the magical world of the mouse and I can't wait to get back to Disney World/Disney Land when it is safe to do so!

Obviously I love reading about all of these things too!

What other hobbies do you have aside from reading?
