About Me

I am a busy teacher but just love to escape with a fabulous book and a cup of coffee. Before having my own blog I contributed to The Sweet Bookshelf Blog and then decided to start this baby! I have been blogging for 5 years now, having just celebrated this blog's 4th birthday. I love writing reviews and top tens but also love readathons and author events and writing posts about them. Last year I moved from the UK to the US and started a YouTube channel too!

Last year I was super busy and my Mum had just retired so she did a few reviews for me. She is now a regular guest reviewer which is great for me when I get really swamped with amazing books to reviews, but also really good for you the reader because she has a slightly different taste to me when it comes to romance and crime in particular so between us we can cover a wider range of books!

We both love finding new authors, and giving/receiving recommendations from friends as well as discovering something new from one of our favourite writers. When we have time, we like to travel and love to eat so we enjoy books which cover both of these subjects too!

I've got a new series of reviews coming up on the blog over the next few weeks. These reviews will be on historical or sporting non-fiction reads. This isn't something I would necessarily read myself but something my Dad is really into and so he has reviewed some of his recent reads for the blog in case we have any readers with a keen interest in either of these areas.
