Review: All Wrapped up by Holly Smale

All I want for Christmas is… a new GEEK GIRL story!

Harriet Manners knows a lot about Christmas.
She knows that every year Santa climbs down 91.8 million chimneys.
She knows that Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer was almost definitely a girl.
She knows that the first artificial Christmas trees were made out of goose feathers.
But this Christmas is extra special for Harriet, because four days ago she had her First Ever Kiss.

Now she just needs to work out what's supposed to happen next…

A romantic festive treat from the internationally bestselling award-winning author of the GEEK GIRL series. Also includes a BONUS previously unpublished GEEK GIRL short story TEAM GEEK!

Review: I was so excited when I found out that there was going to be a Geek Girl Christmas special. Many of the pupils that I teach were also insanely excited when they found out there was going to be a Geek Girl Christmas special and it being Christmas as well there was so much excitement surrounding this book! I was bought the beautiful hardback edition and I read it with my pupils over 4 lunchtimes at school, taking it turns to read aloud and laughing and awwing together!

You can tell just from the start of this review that of course we loved it! We knew that Harriet was going to be excited at Christmas, Harriet is excited enough the rest of the year, but you know she's going to go all out at Christmas! This novella also made us excited because it was like an interim Geek Girl to tide us over until the next full-light novel came out, again I don't know where Holly Smale gets her writing energy from but I love her for the amount of Geek Girl that she brings us-when's the next one out?

It's lovely seeing Harriet evolve over these books and it's great seeing those milestones that she gets to, the first kiss is a pretty big milestone! I love all the other characters in her life as well and so as much as this book was about her it was also about her Freinds and her family and of course, Wilbur, everyone's fabourite fashionista (I hope Wilbur really does exist in real life) and there was the perfect dose of all of these characters in this short but sweet tale. For a book that is only 220 pages, that we read so quickly, there is certainly development of storyline and everything you want to happen happens.

This is such a great read and definitely something I will be returning to this Christmas because it is something you can curl up on the sofa or in a of coffee shop with and just gulp down in one delicious sitting-love Geek Girl so hard!
