An evening with some lovely authors...

Last Monday I was lucky enough to attend an event at ickenham library which showcased books by authors Rowan Coleman, Jenny Colgan, Lisa Jewell and Alex Marwood.

I've actually met three of these lovy authors before but that didn't make it any less exciting! And of course I was extra excited about meeting Jenny Colgan as I love her books & she has been on my wishlist for ages now.

Lisa Jewell read from her new novel Tje Third Wife first of all-this book is out in July and sounds fab! She also answered a couple of questions and was signing books afterwards.

Rowan was up next, reading from the fabulous Memory Book. This is the second time I've heard this author read from this book & it is so special to hear it read by the author herself. She also talked about her favourite words-a topic which I am fairly passionate about myself...

Jenny colgan read from her book The Lovliest Chocolate Shop in Paris which was the first book I reviewed here on my own blog! I was a little disappointed that she didn't read about Neil The Puffin but she then talked about the new books on the GCSE English curriculum which spurres a very interesting conversation amongst all the authors!

Alex Marwood was the last to read from her novel. It sounds fabulously gruesome & suspenseful & I always enjoy hearing her reading her own novels. She too had some interesting views on what books children should be reading at secondary school-fabulous!

After the readings and Q&A the authors were around to sign their books so now I have a Jenny Colgan AND a Lisa Jewell to add to my fabulous signed shelf!
